Our Mission and Vision

We work alongside churches for authentic, relational ministry towards the mission of empowering young people to continually live and share their faith in the global communities they serve.

Every experience we offer is not an end to themselves. Instead, we view each activity done alongside Base as vital hands-on extensions of the training and discipleship of young Christian leaders from the local church. Below is the crux of who we are as an organization. We want to partner with churches and individuals that have a similar vision of seeing the next generation of leaders within the church developed and empowered by the local church for disciple-making through service.

Our ultimate desire is to see more young Christian leaders who love to share Jesus step into their local church and serve the body of Christ. #LiveShareServe

Our Guiding Principles

To accomplish the mission and vision we work according to these guiding principles. These are things we strive to live out in the way we operate as an organization while training young leaders.

  • We seek to empower people to actively live out their faith: Faith cannot be separated from action. One brings forth the other – faith in Christ will be demonstrated by what a person does in their life and in the lives of others. We provide training that results in leaders confidently living out their faith.

  • We believe authentic ministry is found in relationship: Base Ministry believes the most transformative moments in a person’s life happen through relationships, not programs. We build relationships with our partners that result in authentic ministry inside their context.

  • We focus our efforts on the gospel and multiplying disciple-makers: Jesus gave the command to make disciples. We believe this is done in partnership with the Holy Spirit as people live and share the good news of Jesus and train others to do the same.

  • We value and support local congregations: We believe the Church is the bride of Christ and has been ordained by God to fulfill His will here on earth. As a para-church organization, our role is to undergird the local expression of the Church. We strengthen and encourage local congregations as they seek to develop and empower disciple-makers.

  • We steward our resources to do things with excellence: We strive to complete all our tasks with excellence in process and outcome. This does not mean we always achieve perfection, but we do the best we can with what we have. That means we use our resources (financial, human, etc.) for the greatest effectiveness. Our goal is not to settle for what is good and works, but to strive for what is best.

Our Culture

2 Timothy 2:1-2 says, “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” We desire to follow this idea of passing along what God has given us to others, who would then pass it along. We desire a culture of disciples empowering disciples. Here are some ways we are trying to make that a reality:

  • We operate in teams, unified in moving the mission forward

  • We live as disciples following God and His Word

  • We equip to share the Gospel so others can become disciples

  • We empower to serve God and others as a result of being a Christ-follower

Our Central Ministry Focus

As we are asking God to raise up the next generation of disciple-makers through local church service, we need to stay focused on the mission and vision he has set out before us. Our focus is engaging, training, and encouraging leaders for active service in local churches. To see more about how we are doing that please click on Our Work.
